I heard this on an AM radio talk show years ago:
Host: Let's see who's next. John, you're on the air.
(After a short pause, someone started sawing wood.)
Host: John, put down that power saw, and come to the phone, please.

I'm not sure if John came to the phone, but that's the only time I've ever heard any talk show caller doing some woodworking while on hold.
